About this event

Lombard Garden Club's 2010 sale of nearly 500 lilacs boasts eighteen cultivars, including several recently-cultivated lilac trees.  Customers will have several flowering colors from which to choose.

With help from the Village of Lombard and Lombard Park District staff, the Lombard Garden Club's annual lilac sale has become a much anticipated traditional community event. Proceeds of this sale, the Club's primary fundraiser, are used to support the Club's operation and civic activities.

Lombard residents showing proof of residency and a "free lilac" coupon from the Village of Lombard's newsletter, The Pride, can obtain a free lilac shrub on Saturday, May 8, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until supplies run out.  The free lilacs are available on a first come first served basis.  Historically the Village of Lombard provided village residents the opportunity to obtain a lilac in order to have one lilac shrub in each yard throughout the village.  The garden club assisted the village in the giveaway, however, this year’s giveaway program marks the last year the free lilacs are available to village residents.
