About this event
Dust off your glad rags and prepare to get a wiggle on for the Lombard Historical Society’s “Bootleggers Bash.” This January 24th fundraiser will recreate the glamour and good times of a 1920s gin joint, allowing revelers to kick back and tip back in support of a good cause.
The evening’s entertainments will hit on all sixes, in keeping with the speakeasy style. There will be music to dance the night away, with lessons provided to refresh your Charleston. Flappers and fly boys can learn what the future holds from a tarot card reader and play Prohibition-era games. A caricature artist and photo booth will capture all the dolled up mugs, so guests are encouraged to dress in 1920s style. And as an evening at the speakeasy wouldn’t be complete without some hooch on hand, your ticket includes two complimentary cocktails along with unlimited appetizers.
There will be an array of raffle and silent auction prizes available, including Chicago sports passes, theater tickets, hotel stays, and more. Molls and dolls can also pick up a Mystery Wine & Dine bag which includes a bottle of wine and a gift certificate to a local restaurant. Proceeds from the evening will support the historical society’s education, conservation, and outreach programs.
