Civil War Encampment
The Lombard Historical Society's Invalid Corps reenacting group will host an encampment at the Sheldon Peck Homestead on Sunday, August 8 from 10am to 6pm. The encampment is open to anyone interested in learning more about Civil War history or joining the group.
The Invalid Corps represent a group of Civil War soldiers who were charged with guarding confederate prisoners at Camp Douglas in Chicago. The Corps is open to anyone ages 16 and up who is interested in Civil War reenacting. The Corps is a traveling reenacting group that meets several times per year to interpret and demonstrate life and times during the Civil War.
