Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth in partnership with the Concord Coalition brings you a community-wide deficit-reduction exercise where attendees get a closer look at the federal budget and opportunities to rein in our national debt and deficits.

Why: Residents of the Eighth Congressional District will have an opportunity to reduce the federal deficit in a community-wide interactive event. Participants will assume the roles of members of Congress who have been appointed to a special committee to recommend policies to reduce projected deficits over the coming years and put America on a sound fiscal foundation. This will involve difficult decisions and compromises on domestic and defense spending as well as possible changes in entitlement programs and tax policies.
Local officials, business leaders, professionals, students, seniors, and all members of the public are encouraged to attend.
